Sleeper sofas have come a long way since the days of metal bars jabbing into your back and mattresses thinner than a yoga mat. They’re no longer just “in case of emergency” guest beds—they’re now designed to look chic in your living room, function like a regular sofa and, when extended, feel like a real bed. But here’s the catch: While the promise is there, not every sleeper delivers.

That’s why I asked Sally Herrod, PureWow’s Senior Director of SEO & Product, to test the TikTok-beloved Article Sven Sofa Bed. From delivery to durability to how it actually feels to sleep on, here’s her full review.

Delivery and Set Up

The Sven is delivered in one piece, but at 176 pounds, it’s probably not something you can wrangle up a staircase yourself. That’s why Article offers three delivery tiers: free front-door delivery, in-room delivery for $299 (the team brings it inside to whichever room you choose) and white-glove delivery for $399 (the team delivers, unboxes, assembles, and removes all the packaging). Sally opted for the white-glove service and notes: “The delivery was seamless—they carried the sofa up two flights of stairs and assembled it in 15 minutes flat.” 

That said, measuring your space beforehand is critical. She warns: “You'll want to triple-check your measurements if you live in a space with tight doorways or hallways. We ended up removing our office door before the delivery arrived to ensure the sofa fitted in the room.”
