Welcome to your August horoscope! As has become the norm in 2025, this is another wild month of astrology. Leo season is always dramatic, but this year, August brings even more heat: Mercury retrograde, Mars in Libra clashing with all the outer planets, and then once the sun enters Virgo on the 22nd, we’re back in eclipse season! 

This month’s intensity peaks from the 8th through the 11th when the full moon in Aquarius on the 9th delivers a major reality check. Moving forward after the full moon is heavy as Mercury retrograde ends on the 11th.

That said, there’s also some sweetness to go along with this chaotic brew. The best day of the month is on the 12th when love planet Venus meets up with expansive Jupiter in Cancer. Sometimes saying “no” really is a cause for celebration.

The second half of the month will feel calmer than the first half, or at least like the worst of it is over. The new moon in Virgo on the 23rd may even feel suspiciously calm. But with the eclipses returning in September, we’ll re-enter the portal of change.
